Joshua Bardfield, MPH, has wide-ranging domestic and international experience in public health program development, research, and technical writing spanning the non-profit, civil-service, academic and private sectors. He currently directs the knowledge management strategy for HEALTHQUAL International, a global HIV/AIDS initiative operating in 15 countries that is based at the New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute. He has researched and authored numerous academic publications focused on public health capacity building, maternal child health and HIV in low- and middle-income countries. Josh earned his Master Degree in Public Health from Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor Degree in Political Science from Bard College.
Samuel Rose, MA, has extensive experience in organic agriculture, community development, and pedagogy. Sam worked for Ecology Project International (EPI), which took high school students out of the classroom and into the natural environment, pairing them with research scientists working in the field in both the Galapagos Islands and Baja California Sur, Mexico. After completing his work with EPI, Sam co-founded the non-profit, Raíz De Fondo (Deep Roots) in Baja in 2011. Raíz De Fondo creates community gardens and offers inclusive educational opportunities in organic gardening, nutrition, sustainability, and social empowerment. Sam holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Science from Cornell University and a Master Degree in Science Education from the City College of New York.
Daniel Colen is an internationally recognized artist whose work has been exhibited at institutional venues, including The Whitney Museum, The Royal Academy in London, the Astrup Fearnley Museum in Oslo, Inverleith House in Edinburgh, the Albright Knox Art Gallery in Buffalo, as well as at PS1 Contemporary Art Center and the New Museum in New York City. In 2011, Colen purchased Sky High Farm in the Hudson Valley, which serves both as his home and as a studio housing the sculpture production of his art practice. Alongside the studio, Colen immediately began developing both the vegetable production and animal husbandry functions of the farm, with the mission to donate all meat and produce to food banks. In addition to Sky High, Colen has contributed extensive fund-raising efforts to Henry Street Settlement, whose programming and social services have made a huge impact on Manhattan's Lower East Side. He is designing a site specific permanent art installation for the activity room at St. Marys Hospital for Children. Colen holds a Bachelor in Fine Art from the Rhode Island School of Art and Design.
